Hi Everyone!
Welcome to my website.
Here is my story:
I was born and raised in Westport, Massachusetts. I have always loved animals and nature. As a child I would always bring home strays, dogs, cats, bunnies, and birds. My first camera was a Brownie. I have always loved taking photographs.
In 1977 I moved to upstate New York. The mountains and wildlife are spectacular. I really didn't start taking photography seriously until about 1979 when my son was born and in 1982 when my daughter was born. Even then, still taking a lot of photographs and filling lots of photo albums, I didn't start promoting my photography till many years later.
In 1999 I decided to take a few photography classes. At that time I purchased a Canon Rebel film camera with a couple of different lenses.
In 2004 I remarried. My husband is a photographer also. Together we photograph weddings and do family portraits. My husband Ed is also a photography teacher. My passion for my photography is wildlife and nature. I do do some landscapes but I mostly concentrate on wildlife / nature.
Now with everything becoming digital, I own and use a Canon 6D. The lenses I use are a Canon 100 x 400 with an image stabilizer, a Tamron 28 x 200, a wide angle lens 18 x 55, and a Canon macro lens.
I have published two books. A child's book titled " Birds In Your Backyard" and a picture book titled "Wolves Of The Wolf Mountain Nature Center."
As you can see from my website I love to photograph birds, wolves, actually almost anything. In case your wondering where I photograph the wolves, arctic foxes, and coyotes, I volunteer at The Wolf Mountain Nature Center in Smyrna, New York.
July of 2012 I entered a contest on facebook for Thayer Birding Software. There were about 65 enteries and what your friends and family had to do was vote once every 24 hours for a month. I placed 4th.
To receive a phone call from Peter Thayer, President of Thayer Birding Software, LLC himself, telling me that my Flying Barn Owl photograph was chosen to be on Thayer's Birds of North America DVD and Birds of My State or Province DVD was very exciting. If you have or purchase these DVD's and go to Barn Owl's, see the Flying Barn Owl, my name appears when you click zoom and look at my photo.
I hope everyone enjoys my photography as much as I do sharing it with you.
Thank you for stopping by and please feel free to leave any comments.
